Why ConvertingEV?

My journey to converting vehicles to electric started when I was young and my passion for it has gown ever since. I became obsessed with the idea of converting my first car to electric when I was in my 2nd year of college right as parts for such conversions were just starting to become available and affordable. After completing an undergraduate degree in electrical engineering and a masters degree in systems engineering, my career took me many places. I have patented an invention in law enforcement technology, worked on nuclear weapons, and more recently while working at National Lab published articles on advanced nuclear reactors and their roll in the future of energy; but I always come back to my passion which is building electric vehicles with my own hands.

To me there is little in life more rewarding than creating. We all have an instinctive desire to create and for me I found my skills and interests matched perfectly with creating custom electric vehicles. I grew up with a love of working on cars and later in life learned about the raw power of electricity. With my training in systems engineering I have grown to love the whole process of problem-solving in a multidisciplinary world of systems to integrated.

I also love teaching and learning. So that is why I started ConvertingEV.com. This site is my way of sharing what I learn to reach as many people as possible. I want to demystify electric vehicles to people who love cars and I want to provide all the help I can to enable anyone to build their own electric vehicle.
